PTE Academic Retell lecture, Latest questions, Very important for 2024 and 2025

In the Retell Lecture task of the PTE Academic exam, you will hear a lecture (or see visuals like an image, graph, or diagram) and then be asked to retell it in your own words. The task assesses your ability to understand spoken English and convey the key points coherently.

 Here’s how the task works:

1. Lecture Playback:

   - You will hear a lecture lasting for about 60-90 seconds.

   - In some cases, visuals (like graphs or images) may accompany the lecture to provide additional context.

2. Prepare to Retell:

   - After the lecture finishes, you will have 10 seconds to organize your thoughts.

3. Recording Time:

   - You will then have 40 seconds to retell the lecture in your own words. You should focus on conveying the most important points.

 Tips for Retelling:

- Focus on Key Points: While listening, identify the main idea and supporting points. You don’t need to repeat everything word-for-word.

- Use Linking Words: Words like “firstly,” “in addition,” “moreover,” and “finally” help structure your response and connect ideas.

- Stay Concise: You only have 40 seconds, so aim to summarize the lecture efficiently.

- Take Notes: Write down keywords, phrases, and numbers while listening. These notes will help guide your response.

 Example Format:

1. Introduction: Start with a general statement about the lecture.

   - "The lecture discussed..."

2. Body: Focus on the key points.

   - "Firstly, the speaker mentioned... Additionally, the speaker highlighted... Lastly, they concluded with..."

3. Conclusion: End with a concluding remark if time allows.

   - "In conclusion, the lecture emphasized..."

Practicing this task regularly will help you improve both your listening and speaking skills for the PTE Academic exam.
